Ediciones Linteo, taking its name from the latin word, "linteum", meaning "canvas" or "linen", the linum flower being the publishing house symbol, with headquarters in Ourense, sets out to make a contribution to spreading culture, both within the framework of the book and in any other support. The value of the word as a source of knowledge, text quality and excellent presentation are just some of the aspects that define the editorial line. Narrative, poetry, Galician themes and art books are some of the fields covered.
For the present it has opened six publishing lines: "Linteo Narrativa", "Linteo Infantil e Xuvenil", "Linteo Poesía", "Font de la Cometa", "lintei Libri" and "Colección aberta" for topics related to Galicia. The publishing house began with its first book "O fillo da florista. 34 retratos de Eduardo Blanco Amor", at the end of 1998, but, actually its activity begins from autumn of 1999.
Galicia is the central referent of the "Colección aberta". In it, the reader can find a peculiar Galician Procuress, "A Casamenteira", where the original one of the 19th century is reproduced by the first time, Castor Elices' poetical work, Carmen Blanco's essay about Luz Pozo Garza, the tragedies and comedies that, under the protection of the planets Earth, Mercury, Venus, Mars and Jupiter ( I Reward Writers' Association in Galician Language 2008), Millán Picouto gives us, the new version of the magic poem "Medea en corinto" by Luz Pozo Garza, "As Arpas de Iwerddon" ( I Reward Writers' Association in Galician Language 2006), and finally "Memoria Solar" that gathers for the first time the whole work published of this authoress.
"Linteo Poesía" (in Spanish) does not try to be one more collection to the effect that contents any type of poetics indiscriminately. It has, especially, a sense of "rescue" of those authors of proven genuineness.
With "Font de la Cometa" Ediciones Linteo tries to extend its publishing area in a singular handcrafted creative line recovering the tradition of the book of engravings.
