Baía Edicións is a Galician publishing house with a broad range of publications. It was founded in the city of A Coruña in the northeast of the Iberian Peninsula in 1990, and since then it has surprised its readers with carefully published works of great interest in each of its many publishing lines: text books, children's stories, games, literature for young adults and adults, essays and philosophical writings, gastronomy, natural history, etc.

Of all the collections, the following should be highlighted:

  • "Xiz de cor" (Coloured Chalk), children's stories and poems are combined in this illustrated collection that is an in-house production, and where the best work of authors and illustrators are shown, as well as their different sensibilities.
  • "Contos da igualdade" (Stories of Equality), illustrated stories that attempt to break with the tendency of most children's stories that assign stereotyped roles to boys and girls, conditioning their capacity to imagine their own future without limits, to imagine a world of equality between men and women.
  • "Cempés" (Centepede), stories to be read and looked at with the youngest members of the household, with simple stories where the art is as, or perhaps more important than the written text.
  • "Guías de natureza" (Nature Guides), from the beginning we have backed the natural world, as we believe that knowledge of it is a way of contributing to its conservation. Our guides are full of the scientific rigour and great disseminating value that places Baía Edicións and Galician literature on nature at the highest level, and situating the illustrator, Carlos Silvar amongst the top five nature illustrators in the world.
